I came across the Dermalogica skin care line many years ago while shopping for a new cleanser at Wilshire Beauty Supply in Los Angeles. The Dermal Clay Cleanser really caught my eye so I purchased it. At the time, I was actively seeking employment in the Customer Service field. I was cleansing my face and I thought, 'hmm, I wonder if Dermalogica is hiring?' I looked on the back of the box and called the 800 number. Unfortunately, they weren't hiring at the time, but I was instructed to call back in a couple of weeks, which I did. To my surprise, they asked me to come in and fill out an application. I was ecstatic! I was scheduled for an in-person interview. Needless to say, I ended up interviewing them! I started out as a temp and was permanently hired a couple of months later. Now I get up each morning knowing I work with a team of awesome people and it gives me great pleasure to continue to strive for more. I love our company culture and the values it stands for. I've been a tribal member since 1997.
"I vowed sitting in my esthetics classroom that I could do the instructor's job. The rest is history."
I had terrible acne as a teenager so my mum whisked me along to a salon where I was introduced to Dermalogica by a professional skin therapist. It was at the age of 13 when I knew that I wanted to help other people with my skin, as the therapist had done with mine. While I was teaching at an undergraduate school in England that carried Dermalogica, I also attended the classes in Leatherhead (London) as a student where I fell in love again with the education. I started with Dermalogica in 2003. From my short time in the London office to being extremely lucky enough to have played a small part in the success of the Boston training center for 10 years, and now in my Sales role in Boston. Through my own transitions I have seen many changes, but also much consistency.
I found the position with Dermalogica in the Skin Inc trade magazine. I sent in my resume and I was called just an hour later! It was meant for me to be here. I started out as a Senior Registrar and then got promoted to Training Center Manager. I was an Instructor for 3 years and made the decision to be the Office Manager and concentrate more on the business aspect of the training center. Throughout the years, there has been restructuring of different positions. It is actually a good thing as it gives other opportunities for employees. I am a perfect example of that! Now I have the opportunity to go back to teaching again as I truly miss it and I love the new teaching style that has evolved throughout the years. I want to be a part of this continued growth with the company. Especially now with DStreaming, we get to mentor and inspire even more students across the country! It's now been almost 12 years with Dermalogica and it's the BEST decision I have made!
I have been with Dermalogica for the past four years. In that period of time, I have been promoted three times - to Senior Business Consultant, then Regional Field Trainer, and now District Sales Manager. I love working for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work, brand loyalty, and excellence in Customer Service. The people I work with are great, not to mention, the innovative products and education are best in class! I'm really excited for what the future holds for both the company and my personal career growth!
I can’t believe I’ll be having my 10 year anniversary with Dermalogica this summer- Wow! The time has really flown by! My job has morphed quite a bit over the course of the last ten years and this is definitely my favorite time of all. The thing I absolutely love the most about my job is working on and creating new and exciting programs to benefit the staff. It’s been so much fun working with the food trucks to jazz up our lunch program… and who wouldn’t love bringing in free Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream!!?? It's so refreshing to work for a company that really strives to make the working environment enjoyable and one that is constantly looking to add programs and perks to make the time we’re here at work as fun as possible.
It has also been great to be a part of the Social Committee . The Social Committee puts on several events throughout the year, usually centered around a holiday or special event: St. Patrick’s Day, March Madness and Halloween have been a few of my all-time favorites. Anytime you can play beer pong in the canteen is a good time! Aside from loving the actual work I do, I’ve met the most amazing people working here and I have created friendships that will last a lifetime. While my job can be challenging at times, the biggest benefit is that it’s so rewarding and that makes me very happy.
"With 11 years under my belt, I have be promoted 5 times and given the opportunity to manage 2 amazing teams"
Right before I graduated from college, I had that sinking feeling of oh my gosh what am I going to do now. I was so fortunate to be introduced to Dermalogica. From my peers to my managers, I have been supported in my professional career every step of the way. With 11 years under my belt, I have been promoted 5 times and given the opportunity to manage 2 amazing teams. We truly are a tribe and I am lucky to be a part of it every day!
"I love the diversity of this role…no two weeks are ever the same."
This April will be 2 years that I’ve had the pleasure of working for Dermalogica. Even though I am a professional skin therapist, I began my career here working in a foundational role as an Education Guidance Team member. While in this role, I gained my Dermalogica Expert status by taking monthly classes and after a year, I transferred to the Education Team as an educator. I love the diversity of this role…no two weeks are ever the same. I travel to schools, events, spas and other locations to share my knowledge and love for Dermalogica. My students are excited about learning, my peers are supportive and the management validate my work ethic. Thank you Dermalogica... here’s to 23 or more years!
"There’s always exciting new projects and growth opportunities, and your hustle is rewarded (I’ve been promoted twice)."
Growing up, my mom instilled in me the importance of seeing an esthetician every 6 weeks – so it’s no wonder I’m such a skincare fanatic! I started at Dermalogica in 2014 on the US Marketing team and am still amazed to this day at the strength of the tribal connection! Every member of the tribe is happy to lend their expertise and help to get things done. There’s always exciting new projects and growth opportunities, and your hustle is rewarded (I’ve been promoted twice). Plus, my skin has never been better thanks to the monthly allocation!
As a teenager, I followed in my mother’s footsteps by using drugstore brand skin care. (shhh… don’t tell anyone!) Thankfully, a very caring auntie introduced me to Dermalogica in my early 20’s. She presented me with my first tubes of Skin Smoothing Cream and Gentle Cream Exfoliant plus a bottle of Special Cleansing Gel. I never knew what a difference three products could make on my skin … or a brand to my life!
As it turns out, a Dermalogica job opening popped up in my search for new employment about 15 years ago … I applied and have been part of the Global Product Innovation and Marketing team ever since! I started as a Product Manager (now called Innovation Manager), working to bring new products and promotions to market. And, for the past several years, I’ve been working as a Marketing Analyst, tracking and reporting on product and promotional performance, researching the competitive landscape, and generally helping to bridge knowledge gaps.
I'm privileged to work with this team of folks that spend their days endeavoring to bring innovative, effective skin care products to market. My favorite part of my job is working with – and getting to know – tribe members across many departments from Sales to Operations, Finance to Creative, R&D to Education. We’ve got a diverse and fun crowd!
